【Abstract】 Lessening poverty is crucial to social justice. The paper attempts to reinterpret Rawlsian conception of equality and idea of primary goods in terms with why to study poverty and how to discern the degrees of poverty and how to tackle with poverty.Comparing Rawlsian idea with Sen’ s approach of capabilities,we argue that Sen’ s approach does not constitute a radical challenge to the idea of primary goods and these two approaches complementarily form the fundamental way of lessening poverty.更多还原
