【Abstract】 The St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences was founded on the 8th of February 1724, and it was a landmark event for modern science in Russia. The St. Petersburg Academy was founded not only because of the cultural tradition at the time of "facing the West", but also depended on the 17 th and 18 th century Russian social and cultural environment. Although the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences was a product of social circumstance of early 18 th century Russia, it was an important carrier of Russia’s new culture. It brought about a huge influence for the modernization of Russian national culture, development trends, and the evolution of social ideology.更多还原
