【Abstract】 Menopausal syndrome is a common and frequently-occurring gynecological disease. Modern medicine attributes it to ovary dysfunction which leads to fluctuation or decrease of hormone. Hormone replacement therapy is usually used to treat this disease,but it has certain risks and contraindications. According to TCM,the mainly pathogenesis of menopausal syndrome is kidney imbalance of yin and yang. As one of conventional dosage forms,herbal paste has a long history to cure gynecological diseases. Compared to herb decoction,herbal paste has some special advantages,such as comprehensive conditioning,easy absorbing,portable,gentle and everlasting efficacy. Since different doctors have different ideas about menopausal syndrome,they have their merits on the medicine and compatibility of prescription of herbal paste they use.
