【Abstract】 A hot topic in the fi eld of contemporary physicalism is the theoretical explanation of the reduction and emergence of empirical phenomena. Structuralism thinks that the physicalist solution to reduction and emergence is not only problematic in some specifi c matters but it cannot get around the relationship between theory and reality. It holds that in a scientifi c context, ontological commitments should be considered supervenient over accepted scientifi c theories, and this could be used as the basic philosophical stand on which to establish the formal system of reduction and emergence. Structuralism points out that reduction and emergence could be seen as a kind of structure mapping under the condition of ontological commitment.更多还原
