By taking 46 half-sib families of Pinus elliottii as the studying objects, the seedling height and basal diameter of one-yearold P. elliottii were investigated and studied in order to select the excellent half-sib families. The results show that there were signifi cant differences in seedling height and basal diameter among the families. According to the characters of seedling height and basal diameter, 0-1027, 4-12, 0-464, 7-258, 0-510 Ⅳ-9 families were selected as the superior families.
