Two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging( 2D-STI) is a recently developed technique that can be used to quantitatively assess partial myocardial function and myocardial dyssynchrony. This technology, free of angle-dependence and superior to tissue Doppler imaging, can be widely employed. This article mainly summarizes the clinical application of 2D-STI in evaluating left heart function of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
