Experimental study on seismic performance of all-bolt connected and diaphragm-through joint between concrete-filled square steel tubular column and steel beam
【Abstract】 In order to obtain the seismic performance of all-bolt and diaphragm-through joint between concrete-filled square steel tubular column and steel beam, four full-scale specimens subjected to low-reversed cyclic load were investigated. Influence factors such as eccentricity of steel beam, cross section of steel beam and weld defect of diaphragm were considered to test the ultimate bearing capacity, failure mode, ductility and energy dissipation capacity of each specimen. Results show that the eccentric specimens failed due to the cracking of corner bolt hole on the diaphragm, and the specimens without eccentricity failed due to the cracking of diaphragm. Welded diaphragm had no effect on the bearing capacity, and the bearing capacity increased about 50% when the cross section height of steel girder increased from 600mm to 700mm. Hysteretic curves for these specimens were plump, and the specimen with bigger cross section owned better ductility. The eccentricity of steel beam may decrease the ductility, which accounts for 85% of beams without eccentricity. Welded diaphragm has little effect on the ductility, but it decreases the energy dissipation coefficient by 16% ~ 37% when it is compared with specimens with a whole diaphragm, which shows that welding defects affect the energy dissipation capacity of the joints much.
