The mixture powders of Al and Zr were prepared by high-energy ball-milled, in order to obtain submicron Al3Zr intermetallic compounds required for preparing aluminum matrix composite. The influence of milling process parameters(milling time, ball feed ratio and speed) on the microstructure of the composite powder were studied by XRD and SEM.
