【Abstract】 During 450-584 AD, there had been a rare no-son-period of Byzantine Emperors, which brought a huge challenge to Byzantine inheritance system and led to some characteristics worthy to study. These features were caused by the political, religious and social transformation in early period of Byzantine Empire.
