【Abstract】 Confabulation and symbolism are two basic features of fiction creation.Faulkner,a Nobel Prize winner,is good at telling stories with the strategy of confabulation,and by which he displays his symbolic significance in his works.The short story A Rose for Emily is one of the typical works with the features of combining together confabulation and symbolism.This short story has made its psycho-structural analysis of the southerners toward the social transition after the American Civil War.Faulkner’s experience in literary creation has shown its profound influence on Chinese writers.In the period of China’s transform and opening,by learning from Faulkner and trying to create something new,Mo Yan has shaped the model in developing Chinese contemporary literature and played the role of cultural soft power in literature.更多还原
