【Abstract】 Teaching practical skills at a distance is a form of distance experiment. It is argued in this article that the Open University of China(OUC) should develop its nationwide system of teaching practical skills at a distance and the corresponding operation mechanism by taking into account the OUC realities and features of practical skills teaching as well as taking advantage of IT potentials. It is hoped that the implementation of this system will contribute to the reforms of the OUC in such aspects as educational model, curriculum and instruction, teaching support, and teaching management.更多还原
