【Abstract】 English delexical structure refers to the structure which consists of a meaningless verb followed by a noun phrase and whose meaning is conveyed by the noun phrase. This paper based on functional linguistics researches on this special verb phrase structure, in the hope of revealingits features in functional linguistics and providing a new perspective to study it. The analysis shows that English delexical structure can be used to construct grammatical metaphor,enhance the degree of textual cohesion and realize the bounding of language structure.更多还原
