Relationship between blood alcohol level and Glasgow Coma Scale scores following traumatic brain injury
【Abstract】 Objective To examine the effects of blood alcohol level(BAL) on Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) scores following traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods A total of 342 patients were divided into 4 groups according to BAL,and GCS scores were compared among the 4 groups. The correlation between BAL and GCS scores were analyzed. Results There was no significant difference in GCS scores among the 4 groups. No correlation of BAL and GCS scores was found. Conclusion BAL has no effects on GCS scores following TBI.GCS scores can be used to evaluate the coma degree following TBI in patients who drink alcohol.
