【摘要】 本文旨在通过实证研究来检验标签式讨论在提高批判性思维能力和英语水平方面的效果。本研究以图尔明论证模式和前人研究为基础,设计出十一个标签,在两个新生班中组织了五次课后非实时网络讨论,要求学生在网络讨论中对其发言加上标签。为了增强结论的可靠性,本研究利用三个数据源进行三角验证:网络讨论数据和文本、讨论结束后的问卷调查、第一次讨论和最后一次讨论后的学生反思日志。统计分析与内容分析结果显示学习者对标签式讨论持肯定态度,讨论在提高批判性思维能力和英语写作能力方面效果明显。更多还原

【Abstract】 This empirical study aims to explore the effects of labeled discussion on both language learning and critical thinking. Based on Toulmin’s model of argumentation and previous research,11 labels are proposed. Two freshman classes were chosen and students were required to label their posts in five asynchronous discussions. To increase reliability,three data sources were used for data triangulation: online discussion records and text,survey data,and students’ reflections after the first and the last discussion. Statistical analysis and content analysis showed that the students held a positive attitude towards the discussion. Labeled discussion was effective in promoting critical thinking and writing.更多还原
