【Abstract】 Elizabeth Bishop lived a migrant life, and her writings mostly betray sensitivity and perception in time and space. The present article focuses on four poems of Bishop’ s last poetry collection Geography Ⅲ, and discusses their treatment of history and reality through the lens of recollection and location. In Bishop, recollection aims at countering memory loss and identity perplexity arising from it. Bishop’ s curiosity about the specificities of time and place is a manifestation of her interest in the way experiences are transformed when the poet describes them and deals with issues like gender consciousness, sexual orientation and self-identity.更多还原
