【Abstract】 Based on the rules governing the operation and development of university competitive sport,and applying the concept of sustainable development,this paper analyzes the elements pertaining to the sustainable development of China’s university competitive sport. Drawing on the successful experience of American university competitive sport,combining China’s conditions,and starting from the reform of the management system of China’s higher education and competitive sport,an exploration is made on the major ways of achieving sustainable develpment objectives,the theoretical structure of the sustainable development of university competitve sport,and the opportunities of development.
