Study on the Association of STAT2 Gene Polymorphism with Genetic Susceptibility to HCV Infection in Population in Hunan Province,China
【Abstract】 Objective To study the association of the single nucleotide polymorphism( SNP) of signal transducer and activator of transcription factor 2( STAT2) gene with genetic susceptibility to HCV infection in the population in Hunan province, China. Methods DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood of 143 healthy controls and 103 patients infected with HCV. The allele polymorphism of STAT2 rs2066807 was detected by PCR- restriction fragment length polymorphism( PCR- RFLP). Results The distributions of STAT2 rs2066807 GG/CG allele in the healthy control and the population infected with HCV were 93. 7% /6. 3% and 93. 2% /6. 8% respectively, and the proportions of C/G were 3. 1% /96. 9% and 3. 4% /96. 6%,both of which were not significantly different between the two groups( P > 0. 05). Their risk to HCV infection were not different( OR = 0. 924,95%CI: 0. 34- 2. 52). Conclusions There is no obvious association between STAT2 rs2066807 and HCV infection susceptibility.
