【Abstract】 Zhang Jian is a patriotic politician with ambitions and aspiring to practice personally what he preaches.All the activities throughout his life come from,fundamentally,his thoughts of "reinvigorating a country through talents".To reinvigorate a country needs talents who are educated.A country becomes strong with the prosperity of talents.His thoughts on talents are mainly originated from the severe national crisis,his learning from foreign countries,his reflections on his industrial activities,and the need for a regional autonomy,as well as from the inspirations of ancient saints and sages.Both his thoughts and practice of reinvigorating a country through talents have directly promoted the modernization of the City of Nantong,which provides a valuable experience for the cause of modernization nowadays.更多还原
