In this article, the author bases on the analysis of the concepts and principal theory of foundation bearing capacity to make a more detailed analysis of basic concepts and terminology methods that once commonly used in the Chinese construction projects, such as the allowable bearing capacity of foundation, the standard value of foundation bearing capacity,design value of bearing capacity, foundation bearing capacity values, etc. so as to provide reference for the people engage in geotechnical engineering.
