【Abstract】 Edward Alexander in his newly published book The State of the Jews: A Critical Appraisal criticizes what Irving Howe later called "a serious moral deficiency on our part," the earlier American-Jewish intellectuals’ indifference to the Jewish survival during holocaust,and the alienation of some present day American-Jewish intellectuals from their own Jewishness and "strutting one’s superior morality".He also describes how these leading American-Jewish writers and critics’ soul-searching and remorse.And this is specifically enlightening to contemporary Chinese world of letters.更多还原
