【Abstract】 In the early years of the Ming Dynasty,the "Laba People"originated from mixed marriage between the military immigrants and the original inhabitants in Southwest Guizhou. For a long time in the enclosed environment,the "Laba People"had their own unique local culture. The present paper makes a detailed study of the formation of the"Laba People"and the origin of their name as"Laba Miao".
