【Abstract】 Alveolar cleft therapy includes multi-disciplinary, multi-means comprehensive treating strategies, rather than only a simple surgery, which is the mainstream view of current alveolar cleft treatment. This study systematically illustrated the techniques and methods of treatment for alveolar cleft in the following aspects--therapeutic purposes, preoperative orthopedic, preoperative orthodontics, alveolar cleft bone grafting and postoperative assessment. A single surgery without participation of orthodontic practitioners is not a specification of the alveolar cleft treatment. The comprehensive treatment of alveolar cleft comprises preoperative orthopaedic for inducing normal skeletal growth, preoperative orthodontics for facilitating grafted surgery, alveolar bone graft and postoperative orthodontics.更多还原
