【Abstract】 The scope is an important semantic category in language.However,the research on the scope,which is done by the domestic and foreign linguists,is lack of systematic in the linguistic circle.This paper believes that the scope is a prototype category,which is a cognitive network system composed of the time,number of things,events and other members,regarding spatial dimension as its typical member.The theoretical framework of scope should include the following contents:concepts,characteristics,syntactic functions,forms,marks,range-type structures,semantic functions and the relations between semantic ranges.The Chinese scope is of significance and prospect for the research.更多还原
