【摘要】 从地理学术语翻译的角度出发,以概念史的方法探讨了"美国"一词在中国近代文化背景下生成、演变和确立的历史过程。分析认为:认知程度和民族情感对译名的影响、政治和外交层面对译名的操控以及学者和文人对译名的规范与统一是"美国"译名演进的3个主要原因;在此基础上,促进人们对现代汉语体系中"美国"一词的历史渊源和文化内涵有了更加深刻的理解。更多还原

【Abstract】 From the translation of geographic nomenclature and based on the methodology of conceptual history,this article disscussed the creation,evolution and establishment of the word "meiguo" in the cultural context of pre-modern China.According to the analysis of the article,the influence of national cognition and attitude,the manipulation from political and diplomatic aspects,and the regulations imposed by intellectuals and literati are the three chief causes for the lexical change of "meiguo".Hopefully,this article will bring a more profound understanding of the origin and connotation of the word "meiguo" in the system of the modern Chinese language.更多还原
