行波管过渡区磁场的研究与设计
Research and Design of Magnetic Field in Transition Area for Traveling-Wave Tubes
【摘要】 周期永磁聚焦系统因其体积小、重量轻等优点而在行波管中得到广泛的应用。为了进一步改善其特性,文章通过MTSS软件对不同磁场聚焦下的电子注进行模拟,结果表明对于不同的过渡区磁场值,使电子注聚焦的磁场的最佳起始位置不同,它随过渡区磁场值的增大而逐渐远离阴极并靠近注腰位置。这个结果对于PPM的优化具有重要的意义。加入优化后的聚焦磁场并使用三维程序对Ku波段150W螺旋线行波管的电子注进行模拟,波动由原来的20%降低为11%;同时降低了所需要的周期磁场的峰值,这有助于实现行波管的小型化。
【Abstract】 Periodic permanent magnetic structures are widely used in the traveling-wave tubes due to their reduced weight and volume,and no electric power consumption.A series of simulations of the electron beam with different magnet field have been made with the software MTSS in order to improve the PPM structures.It shows that the ‘best start point’ for the magnetic structure will get farther from the cathode surface when we increase the value of the first peak of the magnet field.The ripple of the electron beam in a type of Ku150W TWT has been reduced from 20% to 11% with the improved PPM structure.And the peak value of the routine part of the magnet field is also reduced,that is benefit for the TWT miniaturization.
