【Abstract】 The vacuum electroslag remelting(VESR) furnace is a developed special vacuum remelting metallurgical unit for melting high performance alloy based on vacuum arc remelting(VAR) and gas-shielded electroslag remelting (ESR).The steel grades and alloys remelting by VESR are high quality alloy steels,high temperature alloys,precious alloys, anti-corrosion alloys and aluminium,titanium and silver alloys.This article introduces the working principle and metallurgical characteristics of VESR,compares the melting cost,metallurgical quality and properties of steel products melted by VAR,general EAR and VESR,and discusses application prospect of VESR.更多还原
