【Abstract】 The incident of Wu Zetian’s "Strangling Baby" is regarded as the outstanding emperess’s most ruthless crime which denies her an reputation of a great woman,even an ordinary mother.In history,she became a merciless mother.For the sake of her political achievement,she strangled her own baby daughter regardless of the minimum humanity.This seems a virtual certainty according to the historical records of more than 1300 years.Actually historical records are full of many inexplicable doubts and conflicts,which are the imposed crime by those feudal men of letters since she was the only remarkable female monarch in Chinese history,which is unpermitted in the male-dominated feudal society.Based on the textual criticism of various historical materials and the comparison of the processes of the incident,this paper holds that this incident is genuinely a greatest injustice in history through the testimony of accrate historical facts.Thus Empress Wu Zetian is not at all a ruthless female without maternity.更多还原
