【Abstract】 "Gelivable" can perform many functions in a sentence.Basing on the data collected from different websites,the paper has pointed out that metonymy plays the major role in its functional shift,demonstrating different images in human brain.Then it is pointed out that the grammaticalization that is going on is a synchronic one.Three factors contribute to its appearance: repetition,subjectivity and speakers’ freedom in creating and manipulating signs.更多还原
