【Abstract】 This paper investigates the spatial evolution of central retail district in Nanjing City. In order to disclose the development mechanism, the study is carried out from the point of view of the spatial development sequence. It shows that the spatial evolution of central retail district closely coincides with urban spatial form and functional layout. Traffic condition is also regarded as an important factor to influence the central retail district’s arising and development. Among the factors, population distribution is the intrinsic motivation for the evolution.更多还原
