Influence of human activities on soil element distributions in Jiangsu
【Abstract】 It was of practical significance to study the artificial influences on the element contents within soils. The authors introduced some results related to eco-geochemical characteristics affected by human activities in topsoil in Jiangsu Province. By summarizing and contrasting data obtained from multi-purpose regional geochemical investigation ( 1∶ 250 000) and relative eco-geochemical assessment, the authors thought that human activities had obvious influences on some trace elements distribution in topsoil ( depth = 0 ~ 20 cm) in Jiangsu Province, and found that some typical element contents in topsoil were much higher than those in deep soil ( depth = 150 ~ 200 cm) and the pH value in the topsoil was lower than that in deep soil, the studied typical elements included Cd,Hg,Se,S,Sn, N,and so on. Meanwhile, these elements distribution was more uneven in topsoil and their varied coefficients of content were larger than those in deep soil in most cases. Meanwhile, the authors defined that ten trace elements ( S,Hg,Cd,Se,N,P,Sn,Sb,Pb, Zn) ,pH value and TOC ( twelve in total) were the most sensitive eco-geochemical indicators in soils as to human activities and their u- tilizations of fertilizers and pollutants discharged by industrial production were general ways of changing some element contents in top- soil, and at least there existed six basic channels to affect geochemical behavior in soil by human activities in Jiangsu Province.
