【Abstract】 Martin Luther’s theory "Justification by Faith Alone" built a direct link between faith and God’s grace,making sure that faith alone could certainly lead to the salvation of souls,which liberated the believers from the heavy burden of sinfulness and simplified Christian’s spiritual life in this world.By establishing a singular route to salvation,the theory turns out to be a revolution to the medieval Catholic doctrine of justification by both faith and good works.This article intends to explore the exact meaning of ’Justification by Faith Alone’,tracing the path by which Martin Luther developed his theory from Paul,Augustine and the medieval mystics,and establishing its principal contrasted with the medieval Catholic doctrine on justification.更多还原
