【Abstract】 The history of the East China University of Science and Technology is reviewed.Analysis is made about the establishment of East China Institute of Chemicals and how the institute transited from the single-disciplinary into a multi-disciplinary academy in past 60 years.In the paper,the author mentions the challenges the university must face in order to be one of the top universities in our country.There are three points: 1.how to break the beginning and rely on chemistry situation;2.how to guarantee the teaching quality while developing multi subjects;3.how to integrate the functions of multi-campus.更多还原
