【Abstract】 Yan Yuan was a well-known Chinese ideological educator in the 17th century,who had a wide range of knowledge and advocated an active learning-by-doing teaching concept of giving up the tradition and pursing innovation.To show his determination,he changed the name of the study "Sigu Zhai" into "Xi Zhai"(meaning learning by doing),which was later practiced at the Zhangnan College.By analyzing the causes and indications of the name of the study,we can get the value of Yan Yuan’s thinking on education.更多还原
