【Abstract】 Native culture is the consequence of selection and construction by each individual of a native group in a specific historical context,and determines the survival of the native group.Love Medicine,a famous novel by Louise Erdrich,exploring how the members of a native Indian group treat each other,presents four scenarios in their constructing the contemporary native Indian culture: barbaric intemperance;conservative resignation;maternal love of life;and creative inheritance of different cultures.As the novel clearly shows,love plays a tremendous role in building up national strength.Its value is not limited to native Indian culture,but is universally applicable.更多还原
