【Abstract】 DBC Pierre’s debut novel Vernon God Little,which won 2003 Booker Prize,is a masterpiece reflecting the contemporary American society.Vernon,the hero in the novel,is a God-like character.After the tragic shooting event on campus,Vernon,an innocent young man marginalized by the mainstream society,became the victim;and was further characterized by the mass media as symbolic God on the altar.This paper reveals that the tragedy of Vernon God Little is the spiritual tragedy of the contemporary western society.更多还原
