Compared with other animals,experimental swine model is more economic for its low cost and practical application.The swine cardiac structure shares similarities with humans,and this experimental model has been widely used for cardiac disease studies.This article reviews the progress of Doppler tissue imaging,three-dimensional echocardiography,strain echocardiography,transesophageal echocardiography,and two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging in the evaluation of swine cardiac structure and function.
