【Abstract】 During the mid 20th century,the differences of space-time experience led to the strict boundary between modernism and postmodernism.Almost postmodern thinkers reached a consensus of"modernity is equal to time,post-modernist means space".On this problem,unlike postmodernists who emphasized on space and ignored the significance of time,the marxist geographer Harvey proposes space-time compression in the framework of historical materialism by the use of marxist political economy,and reveals the dialectical interaction between time and space in the change of modernism and postmodernism.更多还原
