从翻译的层次看唐诗意象翻译的策略
On Translation Strategies of Images in Tang Poetry from the Perspective of Translation Levels
【摘要】 许均教授提出翻译可分为思维、语义和审美三个层次。思维层次是翻译的基础层次,语义层次是翻译的必要层次,审美层次则是文学翻译的最高层次。在人类思维活动具有同一性的前提下,唐诗意象的翻译原则需要同时考虑语义对等和审美功能对等。达到语义对等需针对诗歌意象种类的不同来决定是采用源语化翻译还是目的语化翻译。而通过了解唐诗艺术与其他艺术形式在美学特征上的互通性来感受唐诗创作中意象传达的感官美和情感美,有助于翻译过程中审美对等的实现。在翻译实践中采取适当方法,尽力在传播中华文化与译本的广泛接受之间找到最佳平衡点。
【Abstract】 According to Professor Xu Jun,translation consists of three levels,i.e.the level of thinking,semantic level and aesthetic level.The level of thinking is the basic level of translation,semantic level is the essential level,and aesthetic level is the top level of literal translation.On the premise of people’s identical thinking activities,translation principles on image of Tang poetry should both take semantic equivalence and aesthetic equivalence into consideration.In translation practice,aptly adopting domestication and foreignization on the basis of different imagery categories can keep semantic equivalence.Furthermore,sharing sensuous beauty and affective beauty of image through grasping the aesthetic isomorph between Tang poetry and other artistic forms helps to achieve aesthetic equivalence.In translation practice,a translator should adopt appropriate approaches to discover the best equilibrium point between Chinese cultural diffusion and the acceptance of translation works.
