【摘要】 本文考察了英语专业本科一年级学生的英语韵律习得(包括重音,节奏和语调)与性别之间的关系。研究结果表明:女性的韵律表现只是略占优势,除重读外,男女生在意群停顿、连读以及升降调的使用频率上没有显著性差异;但和英语本族人相比,无论男女都在韵律上存在多方面的明显差距。调查结果暗示,学习者的中介语语音系统发展缓慢甚至开始出现僵化。为尽量防止或延迟僵化的发生,学习者应该从一开始学习英语的时候(青春期之前),就培养正确的肌动习惯,并在此后长期的英语语音训练中保持积极的学习态度、观念和策略。更多还原

【Abstract】 This paper reports on an investigation into the role of gender in the acquisition of English prosody(including stress,rhythm and intonation) by Chinese English majors.The results show that although there is no significant difference,females perform slightly better than males on the whole largely due to affective reasons.Since females generally have more positive attitudes and beliefs,lower self-concepts and hence stronger motivations,they usually spend more time and effort in pronunciation training.This study also shows that both male and female learners differ significantly from native speakers on most English prosodic features,as Chinese learners of both genders are deeply affected by language transfer and overgeneralization of L2 linguistic material.更多还原
