Single-phase Ti_2AlN was fabricated with TiH_2/AlN powder mixture by plasma activated sintering(PAS) at 1 200℃for 5 min.The phase composition and microstructural evolution during the reaction of TiH_2 and AlN were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM) equipped with an energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS).It is found that the dehydrogenation of TiH_2 was rapidly accomplished below 700℃,and several intermediate phases,such as TiN,Ti_3Al,Ti_3AlN,and TiAl,are identified at...
