【Abstract】 The paper takes The Pagan Rabbi,the first story in Cynthia Ozick’s first collection of short stories as the sample of her early creation and analyzes its heteroglossia on the basis of the polyphony theories by M.M.Bakhtin and G.Genette.It aims to point to Ozick’s meditations on the relationship between "imagination" and "Jewishness" in her formative years,an indispensable impetus for "moral imagination" and "liturgical literature" which have secured her prominence in contemporary Jewish American writing.更多还原
