Facile synthesis of multi-branched gold nanostructures with high yield by using melamine as capping agent is described. The reaction is carried out at mild temperatures with one-step process.TEM images show that subsequent increase in melamine concentrations leads to the formation of quasi-spherical gold nanostructures.UV-VIS analysis indicates that the broad absorption in the range of 500~800 nm ascribes to the nonuniform morphology of gold nanostructures.
