【Abstract】 In 1930,Steppenwolf started its trip in China as "Prairie Fox." But the Chinese version of the novel was not accessible to Chinese readers until 1986.In the late 1980s,there appeared great upsurge in reading Steppenwolf.However,the upsurge did not last long or cover each region and so brought little effect.In the 1990s,Steppenwolf began struggling for the canonization from the aestehetic point of view.In the 21st century,Steppenwolf was praised as a masterpiece and classic by some readers.But it is in an awkward position in college textbooks that reflects legal status of their canonization.Steppenwolf is now still on the way to construct its classic.更多还原
