【Abstract】 Metaphor is a hot topic that numerous disciplines concern. By presenting the definition of metaphor and its substantive characteristics, this thesis sets forth that metaphor is not only a rhetoric, but also an important cognitive style and a mode of thinking. It introduces the classifications on metaphor that the scholars make, with the examples of the application on everyday life, advertisements, films and televisions, literatures and Network Languages, it points out it is important to extend the study on metaphor for bringing forth the new ideas and broadening our horizon.更多还原
