【Abstract】 The fast growing new IT terms makes it a necessity for translators and terminologists to translate them properly.With the translation of "hacker","cracker" and "honker" as a case,this paper addresses some issues of terminology translation in general and proposes a procedure of terminology translation composed of five-steps involving investigation into such factors as the denotative and connotative meanings of the term,the value of the term in the target culture,the plausibility of its translation,the word frequency and social acceptance of relevant translated term(s) and the productivity of the translated term.更多还原
