【Abstract】 American author Upton Sinclair accomplishes literary intervention of social life with the success of his masterpiece The Jungle,which is re-evaluated as an ecological text for its toxic discourse.Sinclair arouses the public consciousness through literary means and he earnestly puts his thoughts into practice.Helicon Hall and End Poverty in Californian are the cases of ecological activism in macro-and micro-politics,reflecting the author’s ideas towards the relationships between man,nature and society.What’s more,Sinclair’s ecological ideals take root in the middle class value aiming at mediating class conflicts and promoting humanitarianism.更多还原
