【Abstract】 Xuan Shi Zhi is a masterpiece of the Tang Dynasty novelist Zhang Du.It records plenty of stories about deities,ghosts and monsters,many of them are related to Buddhism,propagating the Buddhist idea of karma retribution,the efficaciousness of Buddha,etc.It also reflects the rising and decline of the Buddhism in the Tang Dynasty.The trace of Buddhism in Xuan Shi Zhi can be explained by three reasons: 1.the author inherited the tradition of the novel creation in the middle land,which has long been influenced by Buddhism since the Wei and Jin Dynasties;2.He was deeply influenced by the ethos of honoring Buddhism in Emperor Yizong’s time;3.The influence of the author’s family which was well-known for novel creation.更多还原
