【Abstract】 A deep-water crab Hephthopelta cribrorum Rathbun,1932(Chasmocarcinidae) ,was recognized morphologically and recorded from Chinese waters for the first time using the crab specimen deposited in the Marine Biological Museum,Chinese Academy of Sciences.A single male(holotype) specimen was previously discovered from the Sagami Bay,Japan.Our specimen was collected from the East China Sea at the depth of 850 m and the female of this rare species was found for the first time.Diagnosis and detailed figures are provided,and measurements provided are of the carapace width and carapace length respectively.Hephthopelta cribrorum Rathbun,1932(fig.1—4) Hephthopelta cribrorum Rathbun,1932:35.— Sakai,1939:575;1976:551,fig.298.— Ng et al,2008:76.Material KY11B-32,1♂(7.5 × 8.4 mm) 1♀(13.3 × 11.8 mm) ,East China Sea,(29°45’N,128°30’E) ,850 m,soft mud,5 August 1981,Fengshan Xu collected.Diagnosis Carapace subquadrate,width 1.1 times of length,widest between anterolateral and posterolateral borders.Front almost vertically deflexed,edge visible in dorsal view.Eye stalks stout,strongly constricted next to the cornea.Cornea pale in color.Basal article of antennules large and prominent.Third maxillipeds incompletely covering buccal cavity,widely gaping.Antero-external angle of merus of maxilliped rounded and produced outward.Chelipeds slightly asymmetry,right larger than left.Merus of cheliped with 4—5 conical spines on lower margin,a spine on distal end of inner margin.Carpus broad,with a long spine on inner-distal angle.Right chela with a blunt tooth on cutting edge of movable finger,left without.Ambulatory legs cylindrical,third the longest,first and fourth about the same length.Male abdomen blunt triangular,consisting of five segments(third to fifth fused) .First male gonopods stout,distal 2/3 with rows of spines,tips truncated.Second male gonopods slender,much shorter than first male gonopods,with acute tips.Female abdomen triangular,consisting of seven segments,third widest,successive segments gradually decreasing in width.Telson blunt triangular.Gonopore round,with adjacent area projecting,no covering.Type locality Sagami Bay,Japan.Distribution Northeast part of the East China Sea to the Sagami Bay of Japan.Depth 534 to 850 m.Lives in muddy or muddy coarse sand bottom.更多还原
