【Abstract】 In studying the four English versions of Tao Te Ching by Arthur Waley, Stephen Mitchell, Ellen M. Chen and Gu Zhengkun, some kinds of mistranslations are found, and they are the mistranslation of the Chinese characters and the sentence structure. After probing into the reasons behind, it concludes that the mistranslation of the Chinese characters is caused by the misunderstanding of the part of speech and the connotation of the Chinese characters. And the mistranslation of the sentence structure is caused by the misunderstanding of punctuation and the members of the sentence.更多还原
