【Abstract】 In the process of doing missionary work in China,Timothy Richard approached and got to know the Chinese society from religion to politics.He propagated Gospel and fostered believers.And he paid close attention to people’s life and was keen on education.Especially in the educational reform of late Qing Dynasty,he criticized the Chinese educational situation,initiated western educational ideas,set up Shanxi Academy,and performed the modern education actively,which had made an important influence on the modernization of Chinese education.更多还原
